About the prize

We are pleased to share with you a new opportunity for sculptors to show their work in the heart of London's historic Mayfair for a year, in partnership with Stoneman Collins, curators of the project for The Beaumont Mayfair.

We are looking for sculpture for four plinths that are located on the corners of Brown Hart Gardens (outdoors), in the heart of Mayfair opposite The Beaumont Mayfair. It is also the site of a new restaurant: Pearl, which will be opening in the autumn.

Brown Hart Gardens is a prestigious location situated between Bond Street, Oxford Street and Grosvenor Square nearby Selfridges and we are seeking proposals from artists for sculpture to display on the plinths in these gardens for 12 months, running from November 2026 through to November 2027

The exhibition will establish Brown Hart Gardens as a destination for contemporary public sculpture, enriching the cultural offer for the hotel, the local community and visitors, while creating a programme that celebrates artistic excellence, encourages public engagement and supports artists at pivotal stages of their careers.

The hotel will pay a loan fee of £5,000 per sculpture, recognising the value of the artworks and supporting artists' participation in the programme.

What we are looking for

We welcome sculptures that:

  • Will sit well within this prestigious setting and be sensitive to the listed building and gardens.
  • Are of a suitable scale, craftsmanship, and material sensitivity, and are visually and conceptually compelling and inspiring.
  • Are durable, weather-resistant, and safe for an unsupervised public environment

What works are eligible?

  • This open call is for any artist who makes work suitable for an outdoor setting.
  • The work must be completed and ready for display at the time of the application - no proposals will be accepted.
  • The work must be available for the entire exhibition period (November 2026 to November 2027)
  • The work must be suitable for outdoor display.
  • The work must be safe to sit on the plinth without anchors or fixingsor with fixings suitable for a bronze plinth.
