Join us for the launch of a striking new sculpture by Nicola Anthony in the O’Donoghue Centre in University of Galway.
‘Murmuration’ is inspired by the Irish language poem ‘Daoine Uaisle’ by Louis de Paor, and comprises over a hundred metal birds suspended in flight with the poem’s words engraved in them.
The launch event is part of the University’s Arts in Action programme, and attendees will hear directly from both the poet and sculptor on what inspired their work, as well as reflections from guest speakers.
Sincere thanks: This sculpture was commissioned as part of the Aistriú project, with support from University of Galway, Arts in Action and Galway 2020, and it will be included in the Galway Poetry Trail.
