Awarded a place on the Hove Plinth on the Hove Seafront Esplanade, bottom of Grand Avenue, Hove, East Sussex, for a period of two years, then to be allocated a permanent site in Hove and Brighton.
Inauguration by the Mayor of Brighton & Hove, public event.
“Flight of the Langoustine” was inspired after a bit of beach-combing. A storm had deposited a mangled lobster pot yards from my (first) studio under the arches in Brighton. This washed-up object had been a means of escape for the lobsters and this translated itself into a human story of exodus and release – a dash for freedom."
