Biography

Victoria took her sculpture degree at City and Guilds of London Art School in the late 1980s where the emphasis was on a classical training in life drawing and sculpture.  She has completed several commissioned portraits, including a life size bronze statue of Rudyard Kipling for Burwash High Street, which was unveiled in February 2019.  In March 2022 she was shortlisted as one of four sculptors to produce a bronze maquette of Aphra Behn for the Canterbury Commemoration Society.  Her work has been exhibited with the Society of Portrait Sculptors over several years.

She has also exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition, Towner Art Gallery for the Sussex Open and often at the ING Discerning Eye, Mall Galleries.  Victoria has regularly exhibited at the Royal Society of British Artists Annual Show at the Mall Galleries and at the Royal West of England Academy, Bristol, where she is also an Artists’ Network member. She is represented by Biscuit Factory in Newcastle; Cotswold Contemporary in Cirencester; Rye Art Gallery in East Sussex, Sculpture by the Lakes in Dorchester and Tregony Gallery in Cornwall.

She is a Committee Member of the Rye Society of Artists and a Member of the Bath Society of Artists.

With her more abstracted work, Victoria’s focus is on reading the mood or character of a person through posture.  Her androgynous figures are captured at the edge of movement with a gentle reminiscent humour present in their body language.
