Biography
Sioban Coppinger has been a professional sculptor for over thirty years. Early in her career she worked in foundries such as Morris Singer, before becoming immersed in the challenging world of public sculpture. Her gentle and witty sculptures have been adopted as landmarks from Glasgow to Templecombe.
Working to commission is always a pleasure, alongside creating exploratory new pieces for exhibitions in her purpose-built studio and foundry ‘The Muse’ in Lambourn.
Known for her versatility, and with a deep fascination for materials and techniques, she has used her career as a research programme, always curious about new ways of making. She combines an acute observation of people and nature with an affectionate and wry view of both.
Sioban has exhibited widely, has work in many collections both in the U.K. and abroad, and is a Fellow of the Royal British Society of Sculptors and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
