Biography
I studied Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art, later completing a one to one apprenticeship in stone letter carving in Mid Wales, funded by The Jerwood Foundation.
Practicing professionally as a stone sculptor since 2006.
Works are made in response to private commissions and curated exhibitions in Ireland, the UK and the USA and are held in the Public Collections of The State Art Collection, Ireland and The National Collection of Memorial Art, UK.
Marble is sourced from a stone yard, using off cuts left over from architectural projects.
The translucent marble introduces a kinetic element to the work, as light is transmitted through the material, creating a visual connection between the sculpture and its surroundings.
