Biography

Seongeun Lee (b.1994, South Korea) received her MA in Sculpture with Distinction from the Royal College of Art (2021–2023) and her BFA in Environmental Sculpture, graduating magna cum laude from the University of Seoul (2014–2020). She has presented solo exhibitions including Wanderbound (Faction, Seoul, 2025), Naumachia (Caption Seoul, 2024), Survival Diary (Rainbow Cube Gallery, Seoul, 2021), and Stove by a Whale (Staffordshire St Gallery, London, 2024; collective solo with Steven He).

Her work has also been shown internationally in group exhibitions such as Next Code 2025: Stage Where It All Unfolded(Daejeon Museum of Art, 2025), Split Bliss (Artist House, Daejeon, 2025), Occult Surge (Moosey Gallery, London, 2024), Attention! (Sojourner Gallery, New York, 2023), Hung, Drawn & Quartered (Standpoint Gallery, London, 2023), the 196th RSA Annual Exhibition (Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh, 2022), and Home | Away: Narratives of Dislocation and Estrangement (MP Birla Millennium Art Gallery, London, 2022), among others.

Lee’s practice has been supported by Arts Council Korea (2025), the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture (2024), the Eaton Artists Grant (2024), and the Gilbert Bayes Award (2023). She has completed residencies at Artist Residency TEMI in Daejeon (2025) and Standpoint Gallery in London (2023).
