Biography
My aim is to capture energy in stone and bronze. The stone is direct carved, the bronzes are often cast from a plaster original in which the steel armature has been welded under tension.
I studied at the Slade School of Art, have a degree in zoology from Oxford University and am an elected Member of the Art Workers Guild.
Most of my work is site specific and ranges from small domestic sculptures to a sixty ton community project which won a Civic Trust Award. The subject is frequently symbolic, a merger of figurative and abstract, and tends to reflect my love of the natural world. Two working visits to New Mexico have had a profound influence.
