Biography
Paula Chambers is an artist, academic and arts educator. She has exhibited widely including solo shows Shoplifting in Woolworths: And Other Acts of Material Disobedience, at Barnsley Civic 2020, Home (dis)Comforts, at Dye House Gallery Bradford and Transcendental Housework at Stockport Art Gallery. Paula studied with Professor Griselda Pollock for the MA Feminist History, Theory, Criticism and Practice in the Visual Arts at the University of Leeds, a period of study that had a profound and lasting impact on the form and context of Paula’s sculptural practice.
Paula is Subject Leader for Sculpture on BA(Hons) Fine Art at Leeds Arts University. She has presented at national and international conferences on subjects around feminism, contemporary art and the domestic. She has had articles published in Performance/Research Journal (special issue On The Maternal) and in JourMS. She has a chapter included in Feminist Art Activisms and Artivisms.
