Biography

I completed an MA in Fine Art (with Distinction) in 2016, also receiving an award in the National Sculpture Prize that year. I was longlisted for The Ruskin Prize in 2017 and 2019 and have exhibited work widely across the UK with outdoor venues including Wells Cathedral, The Broomhill Estate, Worthing Beach, The Cotswolds Sculpture Park and Fresh Air Sculpture Biennale. Indoor exhibitions include the Murmuration’s Gallery and De le Warr Pavilion in Bexhill, The Mall Galleries ING Discerning Eye, The OXO Tower and more recently, an installation in St Wulfran’s Church as part of the Brighton Festival and two consecutive years at Wells Art Contemporary leading to the acquisition of a piece by the Cathedral in 2023.

Drawing inspiration from museums and memorials, my art practice has developed around an interest in the way that we present our species to ourselves through the presentation and display of our material culture, which seems to address within us an innate identity of self that transcends the individual and the ‘now’. My doctoral research developed this further with a detailed investigation into the perceptual interpretation and expressive use of age phenomena and material temporality.

I completed my PhD in 2024 (unconditional award with no corrections)
