Marios Fournaris MRSS

Marios Fournaris studied painting and sculpture with an emphasis on new expressive media (B.A. 2010) at the Department of Visual and Applied Arts, School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.). In 2012 he graduated from his post graduate studies (M.F.A. 2012) at the University of Dundee, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, with merit, specialized in new media (photography, sound installations) and artistic practice in the public space (Art, Society and Public). He was a scholar of Greek National Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.) in the academic years 2009, 2010 and he also granted from the same foundation the Excellence Award in 2010. In 2012 he received a full three-year scholarship for the preparation of a doctoral dissertation (Ph.D) by the United Kingdom state's Arts and Humanities Research Council (A.H.R.C). He is a Ph.D candidate in Art Histoy at the Department of Visual and Applied Arts, of A.U.Th. He has presented his theoretical and artistic work in many seminars/conferences as well as he has participated in many workshops and residencies such as: "Alliences and Commonalities 2022", Stockholm University of Arts, Stockholm, 20 -22 October 2022, Sweden, "New Trends and Approaches to the History of Art in Greece", two-day conference of Young Art History Researchers, Association of Greek Art Historians, University of Ioannina, 2-3 June 2022, Ioannina, Greece, "Residency Atelier AMI" Analix Forever Gallery, January 2021, Geneva, Switzerland, "Third Paradise Rebirth Forum", 3-6 October 2019, Cittadelarte/Michelangelo Pistoletto Foundation, Budapest, Hungary and more. Since 2019 he has been a member of the artistic group SHARING PERAMA wherer in collaboration with the curator and writer Barbara Polla, he actively participated in a series of artistic projects such as "100 YEARS FOREVER", Analix Forever Gallery,July - August 2022, Geneva, Switzerland, "SHARING PERAMA - SHARING ART" Biennale ECC "Personal Structures 2022: Reflections", April 2022 - November 2022, Palazzo Mora, Venice, Italy and more. His portfolio includes six solo exhibitions and numerous participations in group exhibitions, while his artworks belong to public and private collections, in Greece and abroad.
