Biography
Kim L Pace creates sculptures, drawings and paintings of emotionally charged beings. She draws on wide-ranging sources—from medieval relief carvings and amphorae, to Eastern European folk culture and underground comics—to depict figures that render the inner self visible.
Seemingly caught in states of becoming, her strange beings don’t dictate meaning; rather, they hold space for contradiction and uncertainty. Pace’s work reflects contemporary unease with embodiment, reminding us that feeling alien in one’s own skin is a shared human experience and that even elusive emotions can be made visible and validated.
