Kate Hammersley MRSS
Kate Hammersley creates work about landscape and change that considers what it is like to live in a world in a state of flux. Using the environment as her starting point, she gathers materials from the surrounding landscape, frequently making work in three and a half dimensions.
Kate Hammersley has a BA First Class Hons and MA in Art and Art History. Since being selected to take part in Sotheby’s International Young Art programme she has exhibited nationally and internationally at the Elizabeth Foundation New York, the Royal British Society of Sculptors London, Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery and the Museum of Oxford amongst others. She has been Artist in Residence at a number of museums and was Fleming Artist in Residence at Hospitalfield House, Scotland. Awards include a Presidential Fellowship from Savannah College of Art and Design USA and a Creative Ambitions Award from Arts Council England.
