Biography

My work lies in a space between sleep and wakefulness, memory and the present. Still, slow-moving, lingering forms provide a resting place for thoughts and experiences, some actual, others dreamed. Working within a traditional sculptural language (mainly painted wood and bronze), I draw inspiration from a wide range of sources including Egyptian and Pictish Art, the landscape, surrealism and my Scottish heritage.

I have repeatedly returned to animal imagery, which acts as a metaphor for the human condition.
