Biography
“Kent works exclusively in wood, and largely responds to the piece of wood, or the whole tree, alongside site, when conceiving a piece. The forms he carves and constructs are largely abstract, sometimes holding suggestions of organic structures in nature: stems, seed pods, layered fleshy leaves. Many of his public art works and private commissions are developed from a single standing tree.” Fiona MacDonald, The Mark Tanner Sculpture Award Book.
