Biography

I enjoy the way the natural world disrupts the man made. I try and introduce something unpredictable into a practice that is based on making quite formal structures.

My sculptures have ranged from the creation of purely 3 dimensional objects, multiples that can make up an installation, to large scale structures that the viewer can walk through and round.
I have also been developing a series of digital images. These images use photographs of my work in installation that are then manipulated in Photoshop. The images reveal something that is quite organic and unexpected. In a way I am creating new objects, “fantasy sculptures”, which only exist in the finished image.
In my recent sculptural work, I have created smaller scale installations and wall-based reliefs. I am experimenting with form and shape, making paper maquettes that could be made into more permanent pieces.
