As an artist, I often incorporate into my work the principles of the time-honored craft of stonemasonry I have been privileged to study, keeping its traditions alive in the modern world even as I reinterpret it through my own language of forms. Age-old principles govern my sculptural work, stones are cut and fit to work with gravity as the glue, an arch with a keystone will span a void. Within this simple architectural framework, a formal complexity emerges.  My intention is to enter my sculptural work into this venerable continuum of stonework, a craft that has existed almost as long as humankind.
