Biography
Domenica's work explores the human figure, more explicitly the animalistic fundamentality of expression and movement. Her figures are neither male or female and do not refer to specific characters but are filtered through layers of memory and experience. These layers are referenced in the combination of materials used in each piece, wax, plaster, clay and wood, before it is cast into a final material. Domenica trained as a sculptor in Florence (2004-08) and as a cabinet maker under John Lloyd (2016-17), these parallel skills allowing her a deep understanding of material. She has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions. She is based in South London and accepts portrait bust commissions in plaster, bronze and stone.
