Biography

Diane Maclean is a sculptor and environmental artist. Working mostly on a large scale, she seeks to interpret natural phenomena through industrial materials and media, particular inspiration being the climate and the material of our planet. Her list of public art commissions include works for the cities of Paris, Helsinki, Dundee, Chelmsford and Inverness and Universities of Surrey, Hertfordshire, Stirling and Guelph, Ontario. Recent exhibitions include: Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge; Natural History Museum, London (solo show); University of Leicester Botanic Garden; Society of Scottish Artists Contemporary, Dundee; Glenmore Forest, Cairngorms and international exhibitions in Herrnsheim Park, Worms, Germany; Abiko, Japan; MTLE Wuxi, China; Ekeberg Sculpture Park, Norway; Chichester Cathedral; Salisbury Cathedral; in 2022Burghley House; Broomhill Sculpture Gardens; Leeds Castle.
