Biography
The sculptural form, especially the human body, is always at the forefront of her art. Since 2000 has concentrated on her career as a sculptor. Official artist for BT leading up to and including 2012 Olympics. Portrait of Paralympic basketball player Ade Adepitan in Jubilee Square, Woking. 1.8m Female Sprinter in Hong Kong.Since 2000 has completed 21 Public Commissions and 46 Private Commissions, together with a number of limited edition pieces. 2016 Commission, Installation of 72 laser cut-outs in stainless steel in central Guildford depicting everyday people of the town. 2019 2.5 meters tall double-sided stainless steel cut-out portrait figure for Runnymede. Double-sided steel cut out of two sailors for Woodland Trust Jutland Commemorative Grove. 2020-2023 Bronze Portrait Figures: 2.3 meters tall Dame Ethel Smyth for Woking. Seated life-size figure of Emily Wilding Davison for Epsom and Life-size standing figure of Greta Thunberg for Winchester University. Currently working on a figure of Aphra Behn for centre of Canterbury, having won the commission by public vote.
Christine works from her studio near Godalming, Surrey. She is an elected member of the UK Society of Women Artists and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
