Statement
Beatrice (b.1994 UK) is a ceramics sculptor. She explores the concept of multi-
dimensionality and liminal spaces. Creating abstract sculptures driven by her direct and
intuitive approach to making she crafts playful and intriguing forms, merging the geometric
and organic and playing with scale and colour.
Beatrice calls her sculptures creatures of her subconscious. The abstract forms take on a
creature like state, encapsulating and making permanent moments within her subconscious.
Her forms sit within / are the liminal space, they transcend boundaries and “the known”.
Beatrice is fascinated by the pursuit of material exploration, she challenges and pushes a
material to its limits, beyond conventional boundaries, to subverts it and reaches
conceptual ideas through this process. Her sculpture asks us to think about our body’s
relationship to the material, the object and the space it inhabits.
