Biography
My practice is predominantly, but not exclusively, figurative – and is mainly in response to commissions. Nearly all of my works are in public spaces with over 30 throughout the UK as well as one in France.
Much of my work is based on the traditions of studio practice learned from practitioners such as Stuart Osborne RA. In turn I have adapted these traditional skills and used them with new and innovative materials whilst also creating pieces using more familiar materials such as stone, wood and bronze.
My audience consists of a diversity of people who all have differing levels of art literacy. I wish for my work to be clearly understood by all and this is never more important than when it has been created for commemorative purposes.
It is of equal importance that my sculptures are made to the highest quality in regard to concept, design and manufacture. I have developed a wide range of skills in order to ensure that my work is well conceived and meaningful, whilst being well crafted and beautiful.
