Biography
Using the fabric of daily life as his canvas, Alex Chinneck weaves fantasy into everyday scenes.
Known for melting, bending and unzipping buildings, and tying furniture in knots, his surreal sculptures and public artworks playfully disrupt the world around us. Sculpting with materials known for their strength, weight and rigidity, Alex transforms them into flexible, weightless and animated forms.
The artist’s studio is responsible for an ever-growing number of high profile and complex public projects, including flagship installations for London Design Festival, Milan Design Week, Hermès and Dior.
