Description
These works are made from discarded bailing twine that Fleming finds in the countryside and that local farmers donate to her after use. Through a self-developed weavingprocess, Fleming transforms these twines into woven 'coverings' and sculptural forms, like these 'chairs'. Fleming's 'chairs' connect with people and environments to create undefined categories.
Darcey Fleming is an artist working in London and West Berkshire. She works across sculpture, photography, video, drawing and writing. She is currently an artist in residence on the Lee Alexander Mcqueen Sarabande Foundation.
