Ben Read Memorial Lecture with Aya Haidar

Benedict Read (1945-2016) was a firm believer in the power of sculpture. Ben, as his many friends knew him, was an art historian, teacher, writer and co-founder of the Public Monuments & Sculptures Association. Five years on from his death in October 2016, Aya Haidar will give the Ben Read memorial lecture talking about her practice which uses recycled found and disposable objects to make work focused on labour, displacement, domesticity, womanhood and memory, with a particular focus on the Middle East.
