Description

Join us for the evening and let artist and paper-maker Jane Ponsford teach you about the ancient craft of paper making. After a brief introduction and demonstration you will be able to use your new paper making skills to make beautiful handmade paper. Under Jane’s guidance you will be couching and casting sheets of paper and experimenting with pressing and embossing cotton paper pulp and recycled Japanese paper. During the workshop you will find out how to use a vat plus a mould and deckle and you will also be introduced to a simple range of techniques that can be used at home.

The crafting does not stop there! Embellish your paper with golden inks and collage and create beautiful festive decorations and baubles (artworks in their own right!) inspired by Jane’s cast paper sculptures. As well as taking home your art, you will receive a goody bag plus resource booklet.

All equipment and materials will be provided.

Suitable for beginners.
