Trustee Nominations

Two candidates have been nominated for the two sculptor Trustee positions: Andrea Geile FRSS and Barbara Beyer FRSS

Each candidate has written a statement and recorded a short video about their interest in joining the Board that you can access them on the AGM 2026 page of the website’s Members’ Area.

Barbara Beyer FRSS

In 2020 I joined the Society as a Member, became Trustee from 2022 to 2025 and have recently been elected as a Fellow of the Society. My work includes site-specific indoor and outdoor installations, interaction with landscape and geology, collaborative work and performance. I maintain a regular studio practice at Rochester Square Studio. I became Member of The London Group in 2024. Since graduating in 1998 I have shown work in group and solo exhibitions, participated in artist run projects and taken part in residencies nationally and internationally. I live and work in London and have two grown up children.

I believe the Society is a place to grow as an artist. The dynamic is such that solidarity and encouragement as well as critical thinking and challenge can energise its members through debate and dialogue and through self-initiated exhibition projects by members as well as exhibitions, residencies and talks organized by the society.

Andrea Geile FRSS

After becoming a Trustee in 2023, I am standing for re-election to serve a second term.

I have been a member since 2012 and became a Fellow in 2016. As a British/German sculptor based in Edinburgh I aim to bring some cross-cultural energy to the organisation.

For the last three years I have been representing the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. I hope to continue because I really like hanging out with sculptors and feel passionately about the importance of sculpture in society. The Society is a diverse organisation when it comes to the stages and experiences of the artist members in their respective careers. I strongly believe in the camaraderie, expertise and shared love for sculpture at the Society. The support given to each other is sincere and it is creating solidarity. You get out what you put in and being a Trustee is a good way to give something back to the community.
