Our Sculptors Exhibitions
Spanning 20 to 30 minutes, this work navigates the dialectical experiences of isolation and solidarity, anxiety and hope, and thememories of freedom encountered by anonymous individuals living in the metropolis of London.
Joonhong Min, known for expressing contemporary impressions through multifaceted media, explores the identity of individuals reduced to mere
components of an urban system. By transforming found objects—discarded plastic and paper bags collected from city streets—into ritualistic masks, Min assumes the persona of an "urban ghost." Through song and poetic recitation, he articulates fragmented reflections on city life, seeking to reclaim a sense of self from the detritus of consumerism.
Donna Kim translates the physical history and sensory layers of an inhabitant-stranger into a distinct choreographic language. Borrowing from Eastern movement traditions and her unique discipline of somatic practice, her performance captures the biological processes of breath, circulation, and fluctuation in response to the external world. Through symbolic gestures and spatial trajectories, Kim conveys the internal landscape of a body that exists simultaneously as a resident and an outsider.
Where these two distinct artistic languages intersect, summons forgotten memories of freedom within the machinery of the modern city. It offers a profound artistic intervention, recalibrating the existential coordinates of the "unseen" in our contemporary era.
