Our Sculptors Exhibitions
Hong LEE & GALLERY HOANG BELI are proud to present Allegory of Emotions : The Echo of Us, a mixed‐media exhibition by French novelist Ingrid MARIE and Korean artist Joonhong MIN, co-curated by HongLee. This exhibition On view from April 28 to May 9, 2026, the show brings together intimate works that pair text and paintings to map the complex emotional landscape of human beings. The exhibition is presented in celebration of the 140th anniversary of Korea–France diplomatic relations.
Allegory of Emotions: The Echo of Us is a collaborative exploration of how language and image shape, translate and sometimes fail to contain feeling. Working across painting, drawing, collage and short written fragments, MARIE and MIN create layered allegories in which verbal micro-narratives and visual motifs answer, contradict and amplify one another. The result is a series of “echo chambers” where emotion reverberates: tenderness returns as abrasion, confession becomes fragment, and silence acquires its own syntax.
This exhibition asks: how do we make sense of feeling when language and image diverge? MARIE and MIN do not attempt reconciliation so much as translation. Their works model emotional thought not as fixed definitions but as processes of repetition, erosion and reconfiguration. Echoes become a method: motifs repeat, sentences mutate, brushstrokes abrade and recur. The curatorial thread foregrounds these repetitions as a way to trace interior geographies and shared registers between two cultural and artistic lineages French literary minimalism and Korean visual tactility while honouring the particularities of each.
