Our Sculptors Exhibitions
white cube / white wall, a trilogy of short films exploring the difficult relationship between man-made borders and freedom of movement, will be shown for the first time in Chicago this autumn. The trilogy is part of the new Sculpture and Film exhibition at CSI Project Space, Chicago, curated by Prof. Chris Wubbena, concurrent with the 61st International Film Festival, Chicago. Shot in aerial perspective, the trilogy merges film, performance and non-permanent sculpture to a new hybrid form. Each film has a cyclical narrative and shows a team of white-clad people on a black stage, stacking up white polystyrene cubes to build walls, enclosures and other structures and then dismantle and destroy them again. Part 1 of the trilogy was commissioned by German Embassy London and German Foreign Office, Berlin for the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and premiered at German Embassy London in November 2014. The complete trilogy was premiered as part of the solo exhibition Transformations with Galerie du Monde, Hong Kong in October 2016.
