Almuth says:

I find my ideas for sculptures in nature. I cannot think of anything more beautiful than a natural landscape or seascape, plants, trees, flowers or non-human creatures. All these, directly observed, lack sentimentality which makes witnessing them truly awesome. I am a speck of nature myself and I am always looking for that raw power.

After fifty years of working with my hands the sense of touch is predominant for me. My hands seem to have a direct connection to my heart and they know what to do with a greater honesty than the rest of my senses. The hands manipulating material are searching for a freedom in forms that we all know. Having said that I employ all my senses including the common one.

I am thrilled to be part of the 10gram challenge along with a group of extraordinary
artists.
