Biography

I am a sculptor using clay and other materials to make thought-provoking objects and site-specific installations centred around reoccurring themes of balance, tipping points, thresholds and edges. Over the last decade I have been making publicly engaged environmental work addressing tipping points in the global climate crisis with an intention to bring lesser-known subjects to new audiences and enact change.  I came to ceramics as a second career and have a background in anthropology and museum curation holding the role of Head of Exhibitions at Dulwich Picture Gallery, London and then Exhibitions Manager at the Fitzwilliam Museum, University of Cambridge, before focusing fully on my ceramics practice. Since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2013 I have shown work widely both nationally and internationally, having pieces in various public and private collections. I live and work in Edinburgh but am visiting lecturer in Ceramics Design at Central St Martin’s, and City Lit London as well as recent Ceramic Tutor at the Royal College of Art, London. I was awarded the Henry Rothschild Ceramic Bursary Prize in 2021 and was the winner of the Award prize at the British Ceramics Biennial in 2023.
