Biography

Presently I work between India and the UK using a wide range of materials sourced from the natural world as well as combining these with manmade materials.  My mediums range from semi-precious stones using a variety of jewellery techniques, enameling and settings, bronze and silver casting, to fabrication with more modern materials. My inspiration and use of themes presently sits in the context of 21st century social values and the immense pressures of modern life revealing the dark side of our psyche.

The arts are essential in that they act as a counterweight to the days to day trials and tribulations of our existence. There must always be a balance between good and evil, light and dark - one cannot exist without the other. The word of sculpture must also keep its internal equilibrium. It is this balance that I strive to maintain and express in my work and in my life as a whole.
