Biography

I am a multi-disciplinary artist making site-responsive work using installation, film, photography and other media, often working through gesture, with thoughtful use of light, space and perspective.  My whole process is rooted in on-site experimentation rather than fixed plans, allowing ideas to emerge directly from the interaction between concept, material and place. My concerns include sustainability and all issues linked to social justice often presented through my choice of materials.  My site specific approach views each location as unique, carrying specific histories, economies and cultural connections that influence the work, and this has a defining influence.  I am inspired by the ordinary, the common place that we all share.

I have won national and international residencies which include the Vermont Studio Center and Brush Creek Foundation for the Arts, Wyoming.  Awarded membership to the Royal Society of Sculptors, I have shown my work throughout the UK and abroad.  Exhibitions include lakeside installations in Toledo, Spain and Laugarvatn, Iceland and exhibiting with the Stadtmuseum, Germany and Geumgang Nature Art Biennale, Korea. Recent exhibitions include the Design Fiesta Gallery, Tokyo, Echoes Studio, San Paulo, Brazil, the Prairie Ronde Residency, Michigan, USA and Aqua Art Miami .

A Londoner from birth, I have lived and worked in the town of Kettering, England, for the last thirteen years.
