Biography
Owen Bullett established his London studio after completing his MA in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art in 2005, and has since opened a second studio in rural Norfolk.
Today, Owen’s studios encompass three distinct collections, which each share his key sculptural concerns of material, scale and surface.
Bullett Sculpture designs and makes commissioned sculptures for private and public clients in the UK and internationally, while Bullett Studio produces sculptural furniture designed in-house under the Bullett Editions label, as well as fabricating furniture pieces to order for other designers and private clients.
Describing a typical Owen Bullett piece, he says:
“It’s a hand-finished self-sufficient sculpture or design object, which is made with a particular person or place in mind. It makes playful use of balance in multiple forms; physical, textural and colourful. There is often a sense of rhythm, but with a degree of disruption upsetting the natural order of things.
“Balance, texture and colour have become the key tenets of my collections and now, with time spent in Norfolk, nature and seasonal cycles are also influencing my work.”
