Biography

Through sculpting, Marko attempts to develop a visual communication between the viewers and his sculptures. The recurring themes he uses are based on observations of human relationships and his deep love of nature and landscapes.
"Sculpting for me is a passion, a way of life; a continual journey based on experience and experimentation. My inspiration is fuelled by an internal drive to experiment with both shape and form".
Marko exhibits his sculptures both in the UK and internationally and is particularly passionate about promoting the art of stone carving. He is an elected member of several art societies and has exhibited with the Royal Society of British Arts and the National Society on many occasions. He was made an honorary member of the Fine Art Association of Gibraltar in 2006 and an elected member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors in 2009. He was awarded the 2016 Brian Mercer stone carving residency in Pietrasanta, Italy.

Marko has completed many private commissions for clients in the UK, Europe, and the USA. His sculptures can be found in private collections both in the UK and in Europe, Australia, China, Malaysia, UAE and the USA. Examples of his public sculptures can be seen in Gadebridge Park, Hemel Hempstead, and Papworth Hospital near Cambridge.

Marko works from his studio in Finland and continues to exhibit in Europe.
