Lucy Tomlins MRSS
I am interested in what the objects that surround us tell us about who we are and how we live today, if we take a moment to look more closely. From historic artworks, to objects some might consider banal, all are transformed through the act of remaking. The resulting objects, installations and assemblages are at once familiar yet materially shifted. Remaking these ready-mades creates uncanny relationships between seemingly disparate materials and things and encourages a reconsideration of these objects and through this, our everyday, situated, social context.
Lucy Tomlins currently lives and works between London and Warwickshire, UK. She received her MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art (2012).
