Biography

Since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2012, I have evolved a hybrid practice which involves making my own art works alongside producing larger-scale installations in collaboration with other practitioners, curating exhibitions, discursive and educational programmes, and overseeing fabrication for other artists as Director of Pangaea Sculptors’ Centre. This sees me toggle between large scale collaboration and working solo; blending these different strands of activity and understanding them all as essential parts of an enriching, contemporary artistic practice.

Solo exhibitions and commissions include those at Metropolis, Coventry (2022); Liverpool Parish Church (2022); Permanent Art Collection, University of Warwick (2019); Sculpture at Bermondsey Square, Vitrine (2017); Bosse & Baum, London (2015); Zabludowicz Collection, London (2013); and Worcester Cathedral, Worcester (2013).

Selected group shows include those at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition, London (2022); Museo etnológico, Castellón, Spain (2019); Mimosa House, London (2019); Chatsworth House, Derbyshire (2018); Galería de Arte Mexicano (GAM), Mexico City (2018); Zabludowicz Collection, London (2016); BayArt, Cardiff (2013) and the Royal British Society of Sculptors, London (2013).

I recently curated and produced Hand Earth Gesture Return (Sustainable Public Art for Coventry and Warwickshire, 2022), a ground-breaking public art installation at Coventry Canal Basin. Working with artists from the UK and India - Dolon Kundu, Rachael Champion, Amy & Oliver Thomas-Irvine and Jim Woodall, this experimental live art experience reimagines what public sculpture can be in the face of the climate crisis. Made from earth, straw and water – natural, locally grown, sourced and sustainable materials – it celebrated the universality of nature and the raw and organic energy generated during the processes of making.
