Biography

The work encompasses both the figurative and abstract, the language and methodology used, often informs each. The more recent work uses a hand bent and welded curvilinear line to describe the form.

After graduating I taught in Higher and Further Education for the next 17 years, retiring in 2009 to concentrate on my own work. I have been commissioned to make seven public art sculptures for Rochester Cathedral, The National Trust, G-Live Arts Centre Guildford, Barchester Healthcare PLC, The Royal Horticultural Society's Fresh Garden at the Chelsea Flower Show, Tarporley Sculpture Trail and the War Memorial for The Thurlow Pavilion in Epworth. The work has been exhibited across the UK, in France, Italy and the USA.

I have worked from my studios in the House Carpenters Workshop, built in 1740, in the Historic Dockyard since 1990. In 2020 I moved to North Lincolnshire where I am building a new studio. I am the resident blacksmith at the Old Smithy Owston Ferry where there are two hand bellow forges from 1840.
