Biography
Hamish Denny qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 1968. He has always had a major interest in sculpture and has established a longstanding symbiotic relationship between veterinary orthopaedic surgery and stone sculpture. His sculptures are smooth natural shapes carved from different types of stone (Marble, Alabaster, Portland, Doulting, Blue Lias, Pont Du Garde, Granite). He was made a member of the Royal Society of British Sculptors in 1997. He has exhibited his work at the Royal West of England Academy 1996-1998 and other galleries in Bristol 1988-2000. In the years 2001- 2011 his work was exhibited annually at Langham Fine Art Autumn Exhibitions, Suffolk and Hartworks Contemporary Art Gallery in Dartmouth.
