Biography
Born in Southport-Lancs-educated and lived in from Liverpool till the mid 60's when I moved to London, studying my Foundation year at Harrow School of Art; then to Kingston Polytechnic for my B.A.(Hons.,) graduating in Fine/Art Sculpture - Elizabeth Frink was my external assessor and offered great understanding and good guidance.
I now live in Harrow, Middlesex . In the past I have taught sculpture and drawing for many educational establishments in Harrow Borough and I run community based projcts: Art for Park's Sake in local park.for residents all ageS and curating art shows in local Cafe
I work from my purpose built garden studio. My sculpture is mainly figurative, based on my passion for drawing from the figure. Myths and magic and my love of dance influence my work, which ranges from life size to hand-held in a variety of media.
As an experienced Tutor and Independant Provider, I was running 3 weekly life drawing classes at The Harrow Art Centre. Since Lockdown, I now host weekly life classes on ZOOM attracting a global group of artists who enjoy the challenges with world wide models and the social interaction of being online. I have recently returned to running classically themed art workshops on a monthly bases.
I am available for commissions (I designed and made the 5' Holocaust Memorial for local Synagogue's memorial garden.
I exhibit and sell my work on a regular basis; RSS 'Parrellel Lines' recently at Lightbox: Glorius Glass at World of Glass/ St.Helens,Lancs. I have work in public and private collections,. Recent solo show 'Circus' Harrow Art Centre.I was awarded a silver trophy for sculpture for the Ist Malta Biennale. I am a Founder for HOS -Harrow Open Studios and currently President of Harrow Art Society
