Biography
All the works come from continuous and intense observations. Hodgson aims to transform her responses into physical equivalents that express and communicate with a power with which they were felt. Forms have been abstracted to reveal forces, systems, relationships, connections, leaving the essence and sense of the subject to be discovered. There is a hope that when the sculptures are seen verbal explanations are not an important requirement.
Recent sculpture 2020, exhibited at Flowers Gallery London culminates over sixty years of visual discoveries that have been challenged and reinvented.
October 2020 an exhibition will be curated in Cardigan that will include bronzes; works made using cellulose fibre and drawings.
