Biography

An ability to draw and capture a good likeness has always been the bedrock of my work. In the late 70's I swapped a career as a portrait painter for public sculpture which I have found much more interesting and useful. I enjoy fulfilling a brief on budget and on time.
Recent work includes designing a new Britannia for the Royal Mint, for the reverse of the £2 coin, now coming into circulation (2015). Portrait busts of The Queen, for The Honourable Artillery Company, David Cameron, Sir Edward du Cann (2016) and I am currently working on a large bronze of 19 year old spitfire pilot and poet, John Magee, author of 'High flight', for Lincolnshire..
Among others, I have sculpted Henry VII, Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I for The Royal Borough of Greenwich (2010), Margaret Thatcher for The House of Commons (2007), the Tribute sculpture to the Coal Miners of Nottinghamshire (2005), 'Fast Bowler' for Lords Cricket ground (2002), and sculptures of Cardinal Hume and Pope John Paul II.
I am a Council member of the Society of Portrait Sculptors and have studios in London and the Forest of Dean GLOS.
