Biography

Trained in London at UCL, the Slade School of Fine Art, and City & Guilds of London Art School, Monseignat creates tactile works that often straddle the organic and the architectural. Her pieces have been exhibited internationally, including at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, the Museum of Contemporary Art Monterrey (MARCO), the Palais de Tokyo, Victoria Miro Gallery and Saatchi Gallery.

Her sculptural work explores the tension between softness and strength, presence and absence, drawing from natural forms, motherhood, mythology, and the body. She works with tactile materials—such as stone, bronze, and fabric—that carry both symbolic weight and visceral immediacy. Through processes of carving, casting, and repetition, Monseignat gives form to feelings that resist language: bruises, metamorphosis, resilience. Her practice is cyclical and fertile, much like the subjects it touches: birth, transformation, and the human condition.
