David Norris PVPRSS (1940 - 2022) joined the Royal Society of Sculptors in 1971, becoming a Fellow in 1980. He also served as Vice President.

David Norris produced large and small scale work, both in the round and in relief, cast in bronze and other precious metals. Experienced in civic, commemorative, commercial and private commissions, notable works include three stainless steel features for Norwegian Cruise Lines, a bronze figure of Sir William Lyons for Jaguar in Coventry, and a bronze group of swans landing for Procter & Gamble.

Born in Brazil, David Norris studied sculpture at the Royal Academy Schools, London, winning the portraiture medal and the Landseer prize for composition. Working from his studio in Putney, London, he works on both figurative and abstract pieces, concentrating on architectural and landscape bronzes and stainless steel pieces. He undertook corporate and private commissions and his work ranged from large to small, in the round and relief, in bronze, stainless steel and precious metals. The human figure and wildlife feature prominently in his compositions.
