Sokari has said

'At the moment in the studio I am attracted to Maria Sibylla Merian beautiful exotic drawings. The stories that her drawings were not believed because she was a female; also  the world that she drew was so foreign to Europe /Holland. All these elements enlivens what I remember and recognise as a tropical paradise.  The  natural world is a wonder . I hope this little piece illustrates some of these thoughts.'
