UNVEILING
‘Rise up, women’
Statue of Emmeline Pankhurst
By Hazel Reeves SWA MRSS FRSA
Please join us on this very special day for the unveiling of ‘Rise up, women’ in Emmeline Pankhurst’s home city of Manchester. Friday 14 December 2018 marks exactly one hundred years since the first UK women voted in a General Election.
The day kicks off at 10.30 with colourful and noisy marches starting from two symbolic locations – the People’s History Museum and the Pankhurst Centre – ending up at St Peter’s Square. The formal proceedings will begin at 12 noon, with speeches and the unveiling of the bronze statue.
