Description

Join London Drawing Group as we venture back to the Society's archives for a class like no other! Maquette: Making as Thinking will invite students in to the unique and beautiful building that is Dora House to explore the history of how maquettes have been used by sculptors working in a variety of mediums, and how they relate to the final works.

Students will make a variety of exploratory drawings using innovative techniques aimed at investigating the space between 2D and 3D idea making. Students will then have the opportunity to create their own maquettes from a variety of basic materials, experimenting with the process of making their drawings come to life in three dimensions, with all the problem solving and experimentation that this process entails.

Expect some sculptural history, making, creating, drawing and a totally unique experience!

All materials provided.
