Richard Rome FRSS
Rome’s persistent interest has been in representations of and abstractions from the figure in its environment.
Working in steel in the 1970’s, Rome created large scale objects that were best seen in open settings, like town and landscape.
Displaying remarkable sensitivity to form line, scale, surface, colour, light and space, Rome’s sculpture possesses a subtletly not often associated with the work of British metal sculptors of the post-war generation.
