Constance Slaughter MRSS
I make sculptures with wire and scrim, a semi-transparent fabric. I sew rough garments for the figures, or I mold them into hybrid shapes. They are children-toy-animal characters in an on-going story, both funny and dark. My work operates in a space between fiction and reality, where our unresolved dreams, fears, and memories linger. It offers glimpses of a narrative that is left to the viewer to develop.
